{"id":241775,"date":"2022-08-05T11:17:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-05T09:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/lecture-on-accounting-and-taxation-of-cryptocurrencies-at-an-accountants-conference\/"},"modified":"2024-11-21T20:29:59","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T19:29:59","slug":"lecture-on-accounting-and-taxation-of-cryptocurrencies-at-an-accountants-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/en\/lecture-on-accounting-and-taxation-of-cryptocurrencies-at-an-accountants-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Lecture on accounting and taxation of cryptocurrencies at an accountants&#8217; conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Peter Varga together with Vladim\u00edra Ma\u010duhov\u00e1 lectured at the Saffron Hotel at a recent conference of accountants on how to account for cryptocurrencies and partly on various aspects of taxation of cryptocurrencies.\nThe conference was attended by a combined online and offline audience of several hundred accountants and so was an opportunity to highlight the practical   <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/produkty\/ako-uctovat-obchodovanie-s-kryptomenami-v-obchodnej-spolocnosti\/\"><strong>a manual on cryptocurrency accounting<\/strong><\/a><strong>which we have created as part of our <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptotaxlaw.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crypto Tax &amp; Law<\/a> platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/uct22-73-2-1024x684-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-225948\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the lecture we mainly discussed:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Classification of cryptocurrencies in an entity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requirement for analytical record keeping;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valuation of cryptocurrencies (or just virtual currencies);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accounting transactions with cryptocurrencies and the impact on the tax base;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examples from practice;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Linking accounting to income tax;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VAT complications;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In our practice, we have been dealing with the accounting and taxation of cryptocurrencies in detail for a long time.\nIn addition to our <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptotaxlaw.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crypto Tax &amp; Law<\/a> platform, we are part of working groups at the level of the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic dealing specifically with cryptocurrencies and capital markets.\nWe have even prepared an <a href=\"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/produkty\/ako-uctovat-obchodovanie-s-kryptomenami-v-obchodnej-spolocnosti\/\">EBook<\/a> on cryptocurrency accounting in a Slovak entity.\nWe give lectures on cryptocurrencies at various forums, write numerous articles and organise conferences.\nAt the last one about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.konferenciaofondoch.sk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">setting up funds<\/a>, we also discussed the topic of cryptocurrencies.      <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/banner-konzultacia-komplexna-peto-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-230367\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>If you are interested in this topic, please <a href=\"https:\/\/highgate.sk\/en\/contact\/\">do not hesitate to contact us<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peter Varga together with Vladim\u00edra Ma\u010duhov\u00e1 lectured at the Saffron Hotel at a recent conference of accountants on how to account for cryptocurrencies and partly on various aspects of taxation of cryptocurrencies.
