On 28 January 2026, the Majestic Plaza Hotel Prague hosted the MiCA in Practice expert conference, focusing on the practical implications of MiCA regulation for the financial sector, banks and cryptoasset service providers. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Our colleagues Peter Varga and Roman Baranec actively participated in the conference, also due to our extensive experience in this field. Out of the 6 NBS licenses granted so far, our clients are as many as 4 entities. By comparison, no such licence has been granted in the Czech Republic so far. <\/p>\n\n

Peter Varga first participated in a panel discussion entitled “Cooperation between cryptos and public institutions after the implementation of MiCA”, which focused on the relationship between the cryptosector, banks and public institutions after the introduction of the new regulation.<\/p>\n\n

Subsequently, Peter Varga together with Roman Baranca gave a joint expert lecture “Cryptoassets in Slovak Practice: the Legal, Regulatory and Tax Situation of Cryptoasset Service Providers in Slovakia”, in which they focused on the specifics of the licensing procedure before the National Bank of Slovakia, the current situation on the Slovak market and the tax aspects of doing business in the field of cryptoassets.<\/p>\n\n

The MiCA in Practice conference provided a practical insight into the new obligations and challenges that MiCA regulation brings for financial institutions and the cryptocurrency sector.<\/p>\n\n
