“Mrs. Wife after 3 kids pretty much killed it” (comment from a friend on the photo). …if she hadn’t “killed it”, we probably wouldn’t be where we are. In fact, for me, her discipline of standing at 4 every morning (because that’s when she can exercise) is a sword of Damocles over my head every time the alarm goes off. And her ability to manage the household and, in part, work, so that I can write our tax and legal story in a bigger way is a huge commitment to “not blowing it”. And so, thanks largely to her, I have the space to strive to reach my potential as a legal/tax advisor in my areas of (i) tax law and (ii) capital markets law. Last week, we won Law Firm of the Year 2024. And that’s in two of the three areas we specialise in as Highgate: ➡️ Tax Law; and
➡️ Capital markets law. And hence, thanks to her. Also thanks to the clients. Not just necessarily for allowing us to be their advisers, but also for the fact that several of them are (still) interested in investing and building in the country. But especially thanks to Tomas Demo and Roman Baranec and all my colleagues at Highgate Law & Tax and Highgate Accounting. Despite the society-wide gloom, we are still bold, fresh and want to lead by example. In all aspects (including that of demographics). Because I’m pretty sure that’s how d.p.m. is supposed to be done.
