This was the title of our second conference in a row, which, however, was not only devoted to the 15% income tax and the possibilities and limitations of its use. The aim of the conference was to focus on several main tax topics that are of interest to every entrepreneur in Slovakia. For example, we discussed the possibilities of tax optimization, the topic of social contributions, business trips (including to Bali) as well as ways that entrepreneurs can use to pay their way out of the company.
Because the law often does not provide clear answers to specific questions (e.g., can a business owner invoice to that business of his or her own as a sole proprietorship, non-cash income in ESOP structures, or employment in a “sole proprietorship”), in several topics we have attempted to bounce off of practice and court decisions that help clarify vague tax issues to some extent. Linking law, tax and accounting is an absolute necessity in today’s complex tax environment.
As Highgate Group, we represent clients in tax matters (for example here) before the tax authorities as well as the courts, we try to combine our experience and knowledge with relevant legal practice in this area.
