As a transactional lawyer, I am used to “bump” periods

As a transactional lawyer, I am used to “burst” periods where we work two shifts in the last weeks and days before the signing/closing of a transaction 😁 However, I have never experienced such an intense period as I have experienced in the last two months. What has happened in my life? 📌 On August 1, we completed the nearly 18-month process and moved into a beautiful new space in Nivy Tower. 📌 On September 28, our daughter Zara was born, and as with our firstborn son, I spent the first few days and nights of her life with her in the maternity ward. 📌 On 29 September (yes perfect timing for the week of childbirth 😊 ), after a very intense closing, Dominika Fedáková and I managed to close the sale of the majority stake in DETOX(https://lnkd.in/e-EevGUH) from the founders (sellers) of KOSIT a.s., a company belonging to the portfolio of WOOD & Company, also thanks to constructive negotiations with Kinstellar. 📌 On September 30, I ran from the maternity ward to the ballot box, believing that my vote would also help so that (not only our) children would have reasons to stay to study, work and start their families in this country. Despite the election result, Peter Varga and I still find it meaningful to run our businesses, pay taxes and contribute a little to the cultivation and improvement of the legal environment in Slovakia through our various professional activities. 📌 Since August, we have been working hard on the preparation of our biggest conference so far – “Real Estate – Taxes and Financing”, which we are organising at Highgate Law & Tax on 21.11.2023 at the Grand Hotel River Park, where we will be talking, among other things, about: 🏣 Small real estate funds in Slovakia and their distribution to Slovak investors;
🏣 Foreign real estate funds, their taxation, regulation and distribution on the Slovak market;
🏣 Real estate financing (debt/equity);
🏣 Crowdfunding and issuance of bonds for real estate projects.

In addition to us, there will be a number of speakers from various investment institutions and platforms investing in real estate, including Národná banka Slovenska, WOOD & Company, Tatra banka, Zinc Euro,365.invest, Welltis, s.r.o., s.r.o., Crowdberry or HB Reavis.
