How not to lose 50.000,- Euros in 15 days? One of our clients (Company Ltd.) did not check the electronic mailbox where the court sent him an official document for several months. The content of the mail was a lawsuit against the Company together with the court’s invitation to the Company to comment on the lawsuit within a specified period of time, otherwise the court will issue a default judgment, in other words, award 100% of the claim to the plaintiff 👨‍⚖️ Since the Company did not receive the mail within the period of time specified for its receipt, by the fiction of automatic delivery, the mail was deemed to have been served and thus the Company started to run the period of time specified in the court’s invitation. As the Company did not respond within the time limit set by the court, the court issued a default judgment and ordered the Company to pay the plaintiff 100% of the plaintiff’s claim, in other words the plaintiff lost 50K Euros “for free” and only because of the failure to check the electronic mailbox 🤷‍♂️ So how not to lose the 50K Euros? Visit the police department 👮‍♂️ and get an ID card with a chip. Activate your signature certificates. Install an eID client. Don’t forget to get a reader. If you manage to do all this, then you can cheerfully check your electronic mailbox via Slovakia(sk) 😊 Or… If you don’t feel like going through this torture, entrust the management of your electronic mailbox to an authorised person, perhaps someone from Highgate Accounting or Highgate Law & Tax
