Peter Varga in SME: A business account is not a wallet.

Domov > Peter Varga in SME: A business account is not a wallet.

Money in a business account is not automatically the company owner’s money. Improperly structured cash disbursements, invoicing one’s own company, or paying for personal expenses can expose a business owner to tax, commercial, and, in extreme cases, criminal risks.

In an article for SME, Peter Varga of Highgate explains why, when it comes to tax optimization, it is not enough to focus solely on immediate savings. It is important to properly separate business and personal assets and to structure individual transactions so that they reflect reality and have a justifiable economic rationale.

The article also addresses invoicing between a business owner and their own company, the risks of the “Švarc system,” the use of a company car for personal purposes, and the division of business operations among multiple companies.
