These are the topics that the gentlemen panelists will be discussing at our next Highgate Business Brunch as part of the next LIVE taping of the Highgate Talks podcast. Viewers who attend the podcast in person will be able to ask questions. Following the podcast, Peter Varga’s expert lecture will address the question of why a retailer in Eurovea couldn’t be a contractor. This will be an interesting and alternative legal perspective on the interpretation of the concept of dependent work in the context of current market needs and challenges and court case law. The programme will then be complemented by a short lecture by Peter Varga on the topic of a unique remuneration model for employees and contractors, which can ensure a reduction in turnover and an increase in the work effort of employees or contractors in companies.

Peter Varga worked for five years in the Bratislava office of Dentons, a major international law firm, where he advised clients on cross-border financing and international tax law. Peter is a co-founder and partner of Highgate Group, where he specializes primarily in transactional tax advice and creating efficient tax and legal structures for Slovak and international clients, including in the areas of M&A, private equity and venture capital investments. He also advises clients on setting up Slovak and cross-border investment funds and represents clients in proceedings before the National Bank of Slovakia and the Financial Administration. He regularly lectures, writes articles and also participates as an advisor in several legislative projects.

Juraj Hajšo
Director of the Labour Inspectorate Trenčín
JUDr. Ing. Juraj Hajšo has been working at the Labour Inspectorate Trenčín since 2013, where he has long been involved in labour law, OSH and the issue of illegal employment. During his career, he has held several leading positions in the field of labour relations and control of illegal employment, while he also specialises in the employment of third-country nationals.
Since January 2024, he has been the Director of the Labour Inspectorate Trenčín. He is active as a lecturer and trainer at professional seminars and conferences and since 2017 he has also held the position of spokesperson of the Service Office. He has also been engaged in consulting and inspection activities in the field of legality and efficiency of local government management for a long time.
