Tomáš Demo is a partner and associate at Highgate Law & Tax and co-owner of Highgate Accounting, a tax and accounting firm.

Tomáš is a specialist advisor for M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions and corporate acquisition structures. He also has a long-standing interest in corporate law and corporate set-up of local and cross-border ESOP structures. Tomas also led the Highgate Group team in the establishment of the first venture capital investment fund (EuVECA) in the V4 region and advised on the establishment of several Slovak alternative investment funds focused on venture capital and real estate investments. As part of legislative initiatives, Tomáš participated in the amendment of the Commercial Code, which removed the prohibition on issuing multiple types of shares for a variable capital investment fund (SICAV).

Activities

After graduating in law, Tomas worked for one of the largest international law firms for several years Allen & Overy as a law clerk and then as an attorney at law. His practice focused mainly on M&A, corporate and regulatory law. Among other things advised on the acquisition of Slovenske elektrární by the Energetický a průmyslový holding group, completion of Unit 3 and Unit 4 of the Mochovce nuclear power plant and the construction of the Bratislava D4R7 motorway bypass .
V roku 2016 sa pripojil k Petrovi Vargovi pri budovaní spoločnosti CARPATHIAN (dnes Highgate Accounting) a v roku 2018 spoločne založili advokátsku kanceláriu Highgate Law & Tax, v ktorej Tomáš vedie tím právnikov zameriavajúcich sa na M&A, venture kapitál, právo obchodných spoločností, právo duševného vlastníctva a IT právo.
V týchto kategóriách sa Highgate Law & Tax pravidelne umiestňuje aj v súťaži Právnická firma roka.
