Peter Varga is a partner at Highgate Group.
Peter is a unique and unique consultant on the Slovak consulting market. In addition to being an attorney and tax/legal advisor, he is also an entrepreneur, effectively combining law, tax and taxation in a coherent and practically focused business advisory service.
At a very young age, he managed to establish and effectively build the now strong and well-known brands in the Slovak consulting environment under the Highgate Group brand. In addition to the law firm Highgate Law & Tax and the tax and accounting company Highgate Accounting , the group also includes the company Highgate Events, which is dedicated to organizing the largest professional events in Slovakia in the field of law and tax, or Highgate Freelancers, which improves the legal comfort of entrepreneurs in Slovakia in the field of hiring contractors. He is also the founder of Crypto Tax & Law, the first and only Slovak portal dealing with crypto regulation and taxation. It is his subjective practical experience in business that significantly increases the quality and comprehensiveness of the advisory services provided.
Peter focuses primarily on tax and finance law. It provides comprehensive services in the field of tax and regulatory efficient business setup for small and medium-sized companies, including their representation before tax authorities, NBS and courts.
Peter has been working on these topics for more than 15 years. He advises not only “one-man bands”, but mainly innovative and fast-growing Slovak companies that require a more dynamic and practical approach, as well as wealthy Slovaks in the area of asset protection and taxation. He also advises investors and large corporations on both simple and complex legal and tax issues. Peter also writes articles, speaks at various conferences, assists government bodies in the development of legislation or methodologies, and is chairman of the Legal & Tax Committee of the Slovak Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. He is also a member of IFA – International Fiscal Association.
After graduating in law, Peter worked for several years at the leading international law firm Dentons as a trainee solicitor and later as a barrister. He spent some of that time in its Warsaw office, where he worked on international tax law and structuring.
His tenure at one of the best law firms in the world gave him insight into the largest transactions in Slovakia, extensive knowledge and know-how and the opportunity to work with the best attorneys on major financial and tax transactions. Peter left Dentons in 2016 and went on to build CARPATHIAN (now Highgate Accounting).
In 2018, together with Tomáš Dema , they founded Highgate Law & Tax, a law firm specialising in corporate, financial and tax law. Since 2023, Highgate Law & Tax has regularly been ranked as the winner of Law Firm of the Year in the areas of tax and capital markets law, which Peter Varga is expertly responsible for within the Highgate Group.
