About the conference

The sale of a company or the entry of an investor is often a key milestone in the lives of business owners and founders. Despite years of experience in the operations and day-to-day management of a business, many seasoned business owners do not have the practical experience or information they need to prepare for the process of selling (or investing in) a business, how the transaction process works, what they most often fail at, or what their options are for tax optimization of their proceeds from the sale of the business. The value of the business, the amount and structure of the payment of the purchase price for the interest, as well as the scope of representations and warranties and the related liability of the owners for the condition of the business at the time of sale, are some of the key considerations in the sale of an interest to a buyer or investor.

  • How is the value of the company calculated and how to maximize it before selling the stake?
  • What to expect in a financial and legal due diligence of a company?
  • What is the most appropriate tax structure for the sale of a shareholding in a company?
  • What are the alternative growth capital options for companies (crowdfunding, venture capital, private equity)?
  • For which companies does private equity investment make sense and what does this form of investment entail?
  • What are the possibilities and advantages of financing a company through venture capital (angel investors, equity investments, private debt)?
  • What are the options for alternative financing of companies through corporate bonds, crowdfunding or small investment funds?

The aim of the conference is to provide both business owners (sellers) and potential investors (buyers) with answers to the above key tax, legal and practical issues related to the process of selling and raising capital in Slovak companies in a practical way. The conference is primarily intended for owners (founders), CEOs, CFOs of companies and investors. For capacity reasons, the organizer prefers this group of interested participants and reserves the right to refuse registration of participants outside the above group.
